Jayson Tatum Over 43.5 Player Points + Rebounds + Assists (-111)
Boston’s Jayson Tatum looks like he has a really heavy number to go over his threshold of Points + Rebounds + Assists in Thursday’s battle against the visiting Suns. However, he just completed a five-game road trip, which saw Tatum roll up some big-time numbers, including a double-double in Phoenix last Saturday.
Tatum has had a huge March, going for at least 26 points in all but one of his seven games. On the recently completed five-game road trip, Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. He was especially hard on the Suns, going for 29 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists while dropping in five 3-pointers. The five triples tied his most since he had six against the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 4. The Suns allow 114.3 points per game, and teams hit 36.3% from behind the 3-point line against them. Expect Tatum to exceed his averages again in the rematch.
Tyrese Maxey Under 25.5 Points (-102)
Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey is the centerpiece of the offense these days, with Joel Embiid (knee) sidelined for at least another few weeks. Maxey has looked comfortable as the top dog, too, going for 33 points on March 1 against the Charlotte Hornets and 35 points against the New York Knicks on Feb. 22 after emerging from the All-Star break.
However, Maxey has managed 24 or fewer points in four of his past six games, including 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-8 from behind the 3-point line, in 38 minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks at home on Feb. 25.
The Bucks surprisingly fired head coach Adrian Griffin after a 30-13 start because the team wanted to play better defense. After a slow start under Doc Rivers, that defensive plan has taken root, and Milwaukee is no longer an opponent teams are rolling up big totals against. Maxey might come close, but he won’t exceed his season average of 25.9 PPG against the Bucks in this one.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 43.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-108)
Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had an amazing season, rolling up 31.1 PPG to rank second in the NBA in scoring while adding 6.4 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game. He was an All-Star, and the Canadian gives OKC some much-needed star power.
“SGA” is coming off a strong performance against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. He went for 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on 12-of-27 shooting in 37 minutes. He would have eclipsed this threshold for Points + Rebounds + Assists. In fact, he is averaging 30.3 PPG, 5.8 APG and 5.8 RPG in six games in the month of March.
The last time he faced the Dallas Mavericks, though, Gilgeous-Alexander wasn’t filling up the stat sheet. He went for just 25 points while tacking on six boards and five dimes. This is a giant number. While Gilgeous-Alexander won’t have an atrocious night, he also won’t hit the Over here.
