ToggleSatou Sabally Lower 16.5 Points (-106)
We were riding high on Satou Sabally for a spell. However, recently the carriage has turned into a pumpkin, as the production is on the decline. Over the last five games, Sabally has only scored more than 16.5 points in 2-of-5 games, while shooting an uncharacteristic 36.5% from the field.
Tonight the Dallas forward faces a first-place Liberty team that owns the third-highest defensive rating in the WNBA. On Tuesday, Sabally only scored nine points in 27 minutes of action while picking up four fouls in the process.
The Liberty are allowing a minuscule 76.5 points per game on 42% shooting from the field, and 32% from beyond the arc.
Satou Sabally Lower 29.5 Points Rebounds Assists (-125)
The points are so heavily baked into this total that you almost have to double-dip if you feel confident that Satou Sabally will not meet the prerequisite point total that was previously discussed.
The Dallas forward has not eclipsed 29.5 P+R+A in the past five games, and matching up against the tenacious New York defense only brings more reluctance. Sabally is currently experiencing a bit of a shooting slump going into this contest. The Liberty has proven during the season to be more inclined to extend scoring woes rather than turn them around.
New York only allows an average of 25.0 points per game throughout the forward position. This simply appears to be a bad all-around spot for Sabally.
Arike Ogunbowale Threes-Made Leader (+230)
Staying with the Dallas Wings, we make our first positive selection of the evening. This type of recommendation comes with a heavy return, which means we may also have to rely on luck to land this pick.
Having said that, we still like our chances for Arike Ogunbowale to lead this contest in three-pointers made. The Dallas guard has made at least three baskets from beyond the arc in the past 6-of-11 games. This includes knocking in nine three-pointers against Indiana on September 1.
The Liberty allow 7.0 three-pointers per game to the opposition; that number has increased to 8.0 over the last five games. Ogunbowale ranks second in the WNBA in most three-pointers made with 104, for an average of almost three each contest.
Sabrina Ionescu Lower 18.5 Points (-122)
The superstar out of Oregon gets what some would call an extremely favorable matchup against the league leader in points allowed and opposing field-goal percentage. We would agree, except Sabrina Ionescu may not have to go too deep into her scoring bag for the Liberty to get the win.
With only four games left on the season, New York holds a firm four-game lead in the standings over the rest of the league. An argument can definitely be made about the possibility that Liberty may choose to limit some of its starters if this game doesn’t stay competitive going into the fourth quarter.
Over the last nine games, since returning from the break, the New York guard has only cleared 18.5 points in two contests; while averaging 17.1 points.
Betnijah Laney-Hamilton 4+ Rebounds (+112)
This selection raises an eyebrow considering the New York guard averages over four rebounds per game. However, we will take the plus action where we can get it, and never complain while doing so.
Betnijah Laney-Hamilton was only on the floor for 22 minutes on Tuesday against the Wings, which plays a major factor into the rebounding total for tonight. This contest is expected to be very one-sided, and rest for a player who has dealt with injuries on the season would be ideal.
The reasoning behind taking the positive side of this selection is primarily due to the fact that if this game is one-sided, then that would imply Dallas missed a ton of attempts. On the season, the Wings allow over 34 rebounds, and shoot 38.4% combined between field-goal and three-point percentages.
If Laney-Hamilton can increase the playing time from Tuesday to around 28 minutes, there’s a very good chance she pulls down four boards or more.
Enjoy the game today, and good luck with your picks. Stay tuned for tomorrow where we will be breaking down a full five-game slate!
